"MUSIC IS MY LIFE"

Picture
La’Trell Seymour heads Motivational Arts Music Department

La'Trell Seymour has had a passion for music since she was a child. She began singing at the very young age of three, where she sang her first solo at her local church. At the age of 5 La’Trell began singing in a group formed by her mother called Gospel Angels, which consisted of 4 other children one of those kids being her brother. This local group quickly became Miami’s newest young sensation on the Gospel music Circuit. They were sent all across the US, being featured on Bobby Jones Gospel, GMWA, and The Annual AIMS convention. Not to mention Gospel Plays such as Lord Save Our Children and also traveling production The Chocolate Nutcracker .

La’Trell realized her love for teaching at the age of 14 when she started an ensemble with her middle school classmates for black history.  Despite her age her experience and natural talent allowed her to take a group of undeveloped singers and assist them in sounding like a season Choral. By the age of 16 her pastor entrusted her  with complete control over the youth music Department. After high school La’Trell went on to study at New World school of the performing Arts where she studied Opera Theater and Vocal Performance.  From there she began her private vocal training and voice development company. While specializing in ear training and voice development she is also recognized for her expertise in developing voices that can cross classical and contemporary (pop, rock, country, hip-hop, rhythm&blues) styles of music and keep the integrity and authenticity of the vocal characteristics ascribed to those different musical styles. She currently trains children and adults of all ages.  She works as a Vocal  Director assisting in established struggling music departments in the area of Voice. She teaches at local camps and community centers. In 2011 she put together the first ever know Food and Nutrition Choir which consisted of the  state wide employees of the food and nutrition department in public Schools.  La’Trell has also started teaching and forming choirs in locals schools that does not have a budget for a music program.
